Seth,
I wanted to thank you for being so cool over the years and never acting better then the person you sit next to on the lift. I first meet you on the Tram in JH as we discussed the smoky nature of the ski tool I had received as a Christmas present. I also ran into you at the premier for ski movie 2 in Boulder at the Fox my freshmen year of college and a few other times. Each time you were super cool sign stuff and treated me and my friends very cool. Just wanted to say thanks for staying humble I wish you a safe and progressive upcoming season. I am back in Wyo. now hopefully we will cross paths again you’re the man. -

THAT IS HOW YOU CARVE A TURN!! NONE OF THAT SLIDING BULLSHIT THE “PROS” ARE DOING NOW!! It seems like 90% of the “pros’ can’t carve a turn what the hell is up with that shit? You and Eric Horjiffson have the best turns around. Way to keep the style and stick forward nature in skiing.
Cheers,

Thanks just a regular guy.

Dude you are no regular man. You are #1. That leap a couple of years back in Anomoly (Bella Coola) still blows me away. You inspire me to keep pushing, even in my 30’s!
Keep charging, no one comes close.

I think this cover shot is the best one of you so far, it shows the style and technique that has defined you among the best out there.
After moving from Iceland, I attended college in Gunnison, starting in ‘92, and was skiing Crested Butte around the same time you were up and coming on the scene, and I have always admired your style, and has helped me pursue my hedonistic adventures. Your carves and big mountain skiing has helped me push myself, and has brought my ski adventures to many great peaks around the world.
Keep it coming, Seth… -
Get cover shot seth. One question though…how is the affectiveness of your avalung with a full face helmet on? I mostly have mine in my mouth for ski cuts and then just ski with it depolyed as you have in the photo. Think you could get it in your mouth in a slide?
Keep rippin!
Cheers,
Smokey

If you have read the instruction manual for an avalung it states in order for it to work it should be in your mouth. So if there is any question in my mind I start the run off with it in my mouth and ski with it in my mouth all the way or as long as I feel necessary. If I didn’t have it in my mouth and something happened its not much harder to get it in your mouth than with out the fullface. Something to practice, some full faces my be closer than others. If nothing else ski with it in your mouth, I don’t notice having a harder time to breath with it in my mouth.

Curious about the full face helmet. Are you wearing ski specific full-face, or is it just a standard winter full-face like you’d use on a sled?

Troy Lee D2, its a DH mountain bike helmet. They are the only company that has shell sizes for different sizes rather than putting in extra foam in a standard shell to make it fit for small heads, which most companies do with full faces.
